This 10-day multi-region eco explorer route gives you a taste of Peru’s three very different worlds, coast, Andes, and Amazon, in one well-balanced trip. Instead of spending long time in each place, the itinerary offers short but meaningful segments in each region with smooth and low-carbon transitions. It is designed for travelers who want to experience the diversity of Peru responsibly without spending too much time traveling between regions.

The journey starts in Lima on the coast. From there you move to the Sacred Valley in the Andes, and finally finish with a short Amazon experience near Puerto Maldonado. Transfers are carefully planned using a combination of buses and domestic flights to keep the route efficient while trying to minimize environmental impact.

Step-by-step itinerary

Day 1-3: Coastal segment in Paracas
Start your journey with three days on the Pacific coast in Paracas. Explore the marine reserve by boat, observe sea lions and seabirds, and walk through desert landscapes. Use this time to enjoy the ocean and understand the coastal ecosystem.

Day 4-7: Andes segment in the Sacred Valley
Travel from Paracas to Cusco and then into the Sacred Valley. Spend four days exploring ancient terraces, small villages and mountain views at a calm pace. Use local collectivo vans and focus on responsible trekking and cultural respect.

Day 8-9: Amazon segment near Puerto Maldonado
Fly to Puerto Maldonado and take a boat to a small eco-lodge. Enjoy two full days of gentle jungle walks, river exploration and responsible wildlife observation in the Amazon rainforest.

If your time is very limited you can shorten this route to 7 days by reducing one day in each region. For a tighter budget replace some eco-lodges with basic homestays and use more public buses where possible. Those who prefer deeper experience in one area can extend the Andes or Amazon segment and shorten the coast part.
