Step-by-step itinerary

Day 1-2: Arrival in Puno and lakeside acclimatization
Arrive in Puno and spend the first two days adjusting to the high altitude. Take gentle walks along the lakeshore, visit small local markets and enjoy the views of Lake Titicaca. Use this time to rest and prepare for the island visits.

Day 3-4: Uros Floating Islands
Take a boat to the floating islands of the Uros people. Spend time learning about their traditional way of life and the construction of reed islands and boats. Stay overnight on one of the community islands in a simple family-run guesthouse to experience a more authentic and less rushed visit.

Day 5-6: Taquile Island
Continue to the island of Taquile. Explore the island on foot using the ancient stone paths, learn about traditional textile making and enjoy the beautiful views over the lake. Stay with a local family and participate in daily community activities at a slow pace.

Day 7: Return to Puno and departure
Return to Puno in the morning by boat. Depending on your departure time you can enjoy one last walk by the lake before traveling to the airport or bus station.
